Become a Non-Smoker for Life

You already know all the reasons you should quit smoking. The problem is that knowing you should quit doesn’t change the triggers, habits, and automatic patterns that keep you reaching for a cigarette.

I help you change those patterns so you can stop fighting the urge to smoke and begin thinking and feeling like someone who simply doesn’t smoke anymore.

When Quitting Smoking Feels Harder Than It Should

You can genuinely want to quit smoking and still find yourself reaching for a cigarette almost before you’ve had a chance to think about it. You may have gone hours, days, or even weeks without smoking before, only to have stress, a cup of coffee, driving, drinking, boredom, or some other familiar situation pull you right back in.

After a while, it can feel frustrating and confusing. You know exactly why you want to quit. You may have tried patches, gum, vaping, cutting back, or simply forcing yourself not to smoke — and yet somehow the cigarettes keep finding their way back into your life.

And every unsuccessful attempt can make the next one feel harder. You start wondering whether you have enough willpower, whether the cravings will ever go away, or whether part of you simply doesn’t want to quit badly enough.

But the problem may not be how badly you want to quit. It may be that the patterns that keep triggering the urge to smoke haven’t changed yet.

Stress

Stress, frustration, or overwhelm can trigger the urge to smoke almost automatically.

Daily Routines

Coffee, meals, driving, breaks, or certain times of day can become closely connected with smoking.

Social Cues

Drinking, being around other smokers, or certain people and places can make cigarettes harder to resist.

Cravings

The urge can seem to appear out of nowhere and feel like something you have to satisfy.

Why the Urge to Smoke Keeps Coming Back

Smoking can become connected to far more than nicotine. Over time, your mind can learn to associate cigarettes with stress relief, coffee, driving, finishing a meal, taking a break, drinking, socializing, or dozens of other moments throughout your day.

Eventually, those connections can become so automatic that you find yourself wanting a cigarette before you’ve consciously decided to have one.

That’s why simply knowing you want to quit — or reminding yourself of all the reasons you should — may not be enough. You’re trying to consciously override patterns that have been reinforced hundreds or even thousands of times.

And when those patterns are still there, quitting can feel like an ongoing battle between the part of you that wants to stop and the part that keeps responding to the same familiar triggers.

The goal isn’t to get better at resisting cigarettes. It’s to change the patterns that keep creating the urge to smoke in the first place.

How We Begin Changing the Smoking Pattern

We start by understanding how smoking works specifically for you: when you smoke, what triggers the urge to smoke, and the situations, emotions, routines, and habits that have become connected with cigarettes.

From there, we begin working directly with those triggers and automatic responses so they no longer have the same pull.

From there, we begin working directly with those triggers and automatic responses so they no longer have the same pull. We’ll work with the situations you’ve come to associate with smoking, things like stress, coffee, driving, meals, boredom, or drinking, to begin breaking the connection between the trigger and the desire for a cigarette.

We then use hypnosis to reinforce those changes at a deeper level, helping you shift how you think and feel about cigarettes and begin seeing yourself differently, not as someone who is trying to quit, but as someone who simply doesn’t smoke anymore.

The goal is simple: cigarettes no longer feel like something you want or need. You simply feel like a non-smoker.

This Approach May Be Right for You If…

  • You genuinely want to quit smoking, but something keeps pulling you back to cigarettes
  • You’ve quit before, only to start smoking again when stress, cravings, or familiar triggers returned
  • You’ve tried willpower, cutting back, patches, gum, vaping, or other approaches without getting the lasting change you need
  • Certain situations like coffee, driving, meals, drinking, or taking a break automatically trigger you to start smoking
  • You’re tired of thinking about cigarettes, resisting cigarettes, or planning your day around when you can smoke
  • You’re ready to stop trying to quit and start feeling like someone who simply doesn’t smoke

Why Work With Bill Schrier

I’m a Board Certified Hypnotherapist with a master’s degree and more than 20 years of experience helping people quit smoking with hypnosis.

I’ve learned that while smokers often share many common triggers such as coffee, stress, driving, drinking, boredom, or taking a break, those triggers don’t affect everyone in the same way.

That’s why I don’t use a one-size-fits-all process. We identify your triggers and how strongly and frequently each one affects you, then customize the process around your individual smoking patterns.

The focus isn’t on helping you become better at resisting cigarettes. It’s helping you reach the point where you simply feel like a non-smoker.

I work exclusively online via Zoom, so you can do this work privately and comfortably from your own home.
